How big is your MSP market, actually?

There are about 955,647 businesses in the United States with 10 to 249 employees in industries that buy managed IT. Enter your ZIP code to see how many of them are in your service area.

How this number is calculated

Why 10 to 249 employees

Under 10 people, a business usually has no IT spend worth pursuing - someone's nephew handles the laptops. Over 250, they tend to have internal IT staff and buy differently. The band between is where managed services actually sell.

Why some industries are excluded

Raw Census counts are dominated by restaurants and retail. A 25-person restaurant is not an MSP prospect. We count only sectors that reliably buy managed IT: professional services, healthcare, finance, manufacturing, wholesale, construction, transportation, real estate, education, and administrative services.

Where the data comes from

U.S. Census Bureau ZIP Code Business Patterns, the federal government's establishment-level business census. It is public domain, which is why we can publish it here for free. Counts are by establishment rather than parent company, so a business with three locations appears three times.

What it doesn't tell you

It is a count, not a list. It will not tell you who already has an MSP, who is under contract, or who is unhappy with their current provider. Those things you find out by contacting them.

Knowing the number is the easy part

Reaching them is the work: building the list, verifying it, warming sending domains, writing outreach that doesn't sound like every other MSP, and handling replies. That's what we do, for Flat $499/mo, with nothing required from you until a prospect says yes.
